CentraleSupélec has defined specializations in line with booming professional fields in which engineers will provide outstanding added value in France and worldwide. These specializations are part of the curriculum from the beginning of the term, through specific teaching courses.
Eight specializations are proposed:
- Construction, urban design and transport
- Interaction in large systems
- IT and digital
- Mathematics and data science
- Physics and nanotechnology
- Communication systems and Internet of Things
- Living science, healthcare and environment
In each specialization, students choose two or three specialities by specialization to acquire scientific expertise. These courses are taught on one of our three campuses, with a focus on the areas in which each one excels.

In addition, CentraleSupélec has defined eight key professional sectors for its engineers:
- Research
- Innovation/product-service development
- Complex systems design
- Transformation and project management
- Operations management
- Decision analysis to support decision-making
- Sales
- Entrepreneurship
A wide range of choices
For the third year, the student engineer must choose a specialized teaching course and a business sector. All combinations are allowed, although some are more viable than others.
